Community Living Holds its 58th AGM2017-05-19T09:20:00-04:00

On Wednesday June 18th, 2013, Community Living held its 58th Annual General Members meeting. After a wonderful meal by the McIntyre Coffee Shop we got down to business.

The Evenings meeting started with a presentation from the Board President identifying the loved ones that we lost this year that were associated to Community Living. In remembrance we gave moments of silence to Evelyn Friend, Michel Laurin, and Arnold Leduc.

After the moment of silence, our board president Mr. Tremblay announced that we had two special guests joining us, MPP Gilles Bison and the Mayor of Timmins, Tom Laughren. Both gentlemen got up and gave a speech regarding their thoughts on Community Living.

After a state of address from the President of the Board and the Executive Director it was announced that we have two special awards to present.

Many of you will remember Harold Beatty, a former resident of Birch St., who passed away June 22, 1991. In his memory an award fund was established as follows:
“This award will be given annually to a person with a developmental challenge who has made, during the year, an outstanding contribution to friends and the community, and exemplifies the C.L.T.I.C. Goal:

‘That all persons live in a state of dignity,
share in all elements of living in the community
and have the opportunity to participate effectively.'”

This years recipient is Angel Labelle. Even during the meeting she was seen in the kitchen at the coffee machine handing out coffee to those in attendance. Congratulations again Angel.

The second award is presented as the Special Volunteer Award. This award is presented to someone who supports Community Living and is registered as a volunteer with us. This year the award was presented to long-time volunteer Carol Bradbury, who without her and a few other dedicated volunteers our Bingo program would not function. Again from Community Living, we can’t you thank you enough Carol for the volunteering that you do.

The last thing on the agenda was to complete the Board of Directors for the year 2013-2014. The new board is as follows:
