Public Educations Citizenship contest

Recently there was a contest held by the Public Education Committee with the simple question, “Citizenship, what does citizenship mean to you?” After many submissions and debate the Committee came up with three winners:

In third place is Kim B. Kim based her theme on Canada as a whole showing now citizenship protects your right to free speech, religion and health care. Congratulations Kim. – See Kim’s poster.

In second place is Francoise. Francoise based her theme on the community of Timmins and all the different things that she participates in inside her neighbourhood. Congratulations Francoise.  – See Francoise’ poster.

In first place is Sara F. Sara based her theme on belonging to her community and helping out her neighbours. Congratulations Sara. – See Sara’s poster.

Also up for grabs was a contest for the CLTIC newsletter. For this contest it finished in a three way tie.
The winners in no particular order are:

  • Vic Mahoney Centre
  • Children’s Services
  • Supported Independent Living

For prizes the participants were presented with a mixture of:

  • money
  • clothing
  • cloth carry all bags
